Roger Federer vs Andy Murray: Australian Open, 2nd semi-final

Melbourne: The crowd at the Melbourne Park was left disappointed during the first semi-final as it proved to be a one-sided affair where Novak Djokovic demolished David Ferrer in three sets within no time. But as the legendary Roger Federer takes on the in-form Andy Murray in the second, we are rest assured of a high-voltage encounter.

The Swiss machine would want to win his record 18th Grand Slam title, while Andy Murray would be seeking his maiden Australian Open title after having a great 2012. While the top players like Novak and Federer himself, have been tested by their opponents, Murray seems to have been the luckier one to have escaped any tense five-setters.

Murray hasn’t lost a set so far in this year’s Australian Open and his abilities would once again be tested by Federer, who has looked extremely comfortable during the championship.

It was Murray who deprived Federer of an Olympic gold as the Briton outclassed the Swiss champ in straight sets, 6-2 6-1 6-4. Federer would be wary of Murray’s resilience of late, and thus would leave no stone unturned to reach another Grand Slam final.

Just like all of us, the semi-final would be watched by Novak Djokovic, who has played some incredible tennis in the tournament so far.
