Federer takes on Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France in his quarterfinal
match. The second-ranked player in the world beat Canadian Milos Raonic
6-4, 7-6, 6-2 to enter the third-to-last round. Tsonga has beaten two of
his countrymen in the Aussie Open thus far, including Richard Gasquet
6-4, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 in the last round.
Serena Williams, Roger Federer and Andy Murray will all be in action
for Day 10 of the 2013 Australian Open. Williams and Murray both play at
11 pm EST on Tuesday, while Federer’s match will be at 7:30 am EST on
Wednesday.
Williams will face Sloane Stephens of the U.S. in the quarterfinal
match at Rod Laver Arena. The 19-year-old Stephens beat Bojana
Jovanovski of Serbia 6-1, 3-6, 7-5 to advance, while Williams topped
Maria Kirilenko 6-2, 6-0.
Williams lost her doubles match with sister Venus on Tuesday, as Sara
Errani and Roberta Vinci of Italy defeated them 3-6, 7-6, 7-5.
The women’s singles final will be on Sunday, Jan. 27 at 7:30 am EST.
The men’s final will be the last match of the tournament at 7:30 am EST

The women’s doubles final takes place on Saturday, Jan. 26 not before
4:00 am. The men’s doubles final will be after the women’s singles
final. The mixed doubles final will be at 4:00 am EST on Monday, Jan.

Murray will battle Jeremy Chardy of France in his next match. Murray
made it past Gilles Simon in three sets in the previous match, 6-3, 6-1,
6-3. Chardy came back to defeat Andreas Seppi 5-7, 6-3, 6-2, 6-2,
though he lost his last doubles contest in the third round. Chardy and
the Polish Lukasz Kubot fell to the twin tandem of Bob and Mike Bryan.
